I'm looking for restaurant suggestions in Buffalo that are more off of the beaten track. Interesting food, homemade, dive-like setting. Anchor and a few other places are well known-I'm looking for original good homemade food. Thanks.

  1. I'll throw a few out: Ulrich's Tavern, near the Roswell Park/ medical complex north of downtown (google it - I can't recall the exact street) - old bar with german food, Irish folk sessions, etc. Sterling Place on Hertel - great bar food, some good beers, odd hours.
