Eating in Stillwater, MN

  • 4

Where should my husband and I eat in Stillwater, MN? We had heard of the Bayport Cookery, but that is closed. Anything else that shouldn't be missed?

    1. I keep going back to Savories (Savorie's?) in Stillwater. And I wish they still sold baked goods.

      1. Marx Wine Bar and Phil's Tara Hideaway are my two favorite restaurants in Stillwater. Both offer excellent food and atmospheres.

        1. I was there this weekend with 3 friends and we went to Smalley's Caribbean BBQ for lunch. We were all blown away by it.

We started out with drinks and an appetizer. I had a Dark and Stormy and it was good, but nothing special. There are a lot of rum drinks on the menu as well as a lot of non-alcoholic cocktails that my DD friend appreciated. For the app, we shared the corn fritters with rum butter sauce. We all thought they were fantastic. Additionally, we got the free roasted peppers with sea salt and lime. They are a fun, but hot, little snack.

I got the brisket and chicken BBQ combo with mac and cheese and curried veggies as sides. The brisket was really good and the chicken was good, but a little dry. The mac and cheese was super creamy and really good. The two boys in our group got ribs which they gobbled down. My girlfriend got a couple sides and a salad since she is vegetarian and loved it all. She had a hard time deciding what to get, which she really liked.

I'd highly recommend it for a casual meal.
