Denver Eats.....
Hey Hounds I am going to be in Denver for the weekend of the July 4th and would like to treat my girlfriend to a nice dinner. We are staying at the Hyatt Regency downtown and will have a vehicle at our disposal, however I understand that with the Rockies in town that might be a pain.
So here is what I am looking for....Something upscale (she wants to dress up), I am open on cuisine, and moderately priced.
So....
Upscale
Cuisine: Italian, seafood, Steak, Mexican, Thai, New American.....Anything fun and inventive as well.
Cost: $150-$200 for both of us including a couple drinks.
Location: Prefer Downtown but wont rule anything out.
Reeeeady???? Go!!!!

Rioja in Larimer Square never fails to impress with its creative spin on Mediterranean/Spanish, and although dinner here could be at the high end of your price range, it's totally worth it. A couple other ideas: the 9th Door in LoDo for delicious tapas in moderately swanky environs; Sushi Sasa in Lower Highland does beautiful fish in a clean, modern setting; and though you would have to drive, intimate Fruition serves up fab seasonal fare.

Panzano in the Hotel Monaco is always a treat too. Very good northern Italian food. Fine wine list. Congenial female chef, Elise Wiggins, who comes around and says hello when she can spare a few moments. You might even save a few bucks if you will be in town Sunday evening and like steak. Panzano now offers a 32-ounce (I think) T-bone, which they call a Bistecca, with a choice of side dishes for $29 for two.
