Can anyone recommend a good Chinese restaurant? I live in Westfield and still miss China Light. I don't want anything fancy, just a good Chinese restaurant that is not take-out only. We've tried Hunan Spring in Springfield and Dim Sum in Cranford and found them both mediocre.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks in advance.

That area is tough for good chinese.

Cathay 22 Union NJ Rt 22 really has gone down hill over the years. My last visit was good. Maybe it is on an upswing?

Golden Palace on Blvd in Kenilworth over the years been here many times with associates, good but nothing special.

Ling Ling Short Hills was less than ok.

Chen's in New Providence is a little north was very good over the years but think they closed temp due to a terrible incident with one of the chefs.

Q2 Cafe Taiwanese 41 Mountain Blvd Warren - Have not tried it, the menu looks a little odd at first glance, but other Chowhounds have posted and really enjoyed this place.

There is also a new place called Open The Sesame in Springfield. I was not crazy about the food during my visit but it was when they first opened and others posted and really enjoyed their meal. Maybe you want to try there.

Hope this helps. I am in that area at least once a week and understand the need for good chinese.
