Is there anywhere I can get country/chicken fried steak smothered in white gravy around here? I've been craving it all weekend!

I usually make my own (it's pretty easy), but I had chicken-fried steak at Acme Bar & Grill several years ago, and it was good! $15 @ 9 Great Jones Street, between Broadway and Lafayette St.

there's not a *great* one to be had in NYC, but Cowgirl Hall of Fame has a passable version. Plus good sides and margaritas.

I haven't been in several years, but Virgil's, in the Theater District, used to serve a pretty good chicken-fried steak with white gravy, mashed, greens, and cornbread. Virgil's is crowded and touristy, but if the quality of that particular dish were the same, that's where I'd go.

Try Brother Jimmys BBQ (several locations around), it's a bar, but the CFS is really good.

Two Boots has it, but it's not great.
