Casual Lunch in DC

Hi DC Chowhounders,

A few friends and I are visiting DC next weekend for a wedding. We'll be staying at the Grand Hyatt (1000 H St. NW). What are some recommendations for a casual lunch on a Saturday?

I heard good things about Nando's Peri-Peri, which is a quick walk. Any other suggestions? I'd prefer suggestions that are relatively near-by.

Thanks in advance.

matchbox is good, nearby and casual as well, and more full-service than nando's. Though i love the chicken at nando's, the bizarre ordering system makes lunch with larger groups a little awkward, and the same goes for vapiano — really great food, but awkward ordering system. if that doesn't bother you, though, both those places are delicious and casual.

I second Matchbox. Love it there. Also, Jaleo might be a good spot as well.

5th matchbox. I will also add Vegetate for vegetarian fare and Cure Bistro, which is right in your hotel. We had dinner there once and it was surprisingly delicious...not sure about their lunch menu but worth looking into.

I checked the Vegetate website, and I only see hours for dinner, not lunch. Is that correct?

you know it's quite possible. I've only been there for dinner.
