Jalapeno Sausage at Riley's in Blanco

Allright folks, ever since Black's started adding processed cheese food product to their jalapeno sausage I've been searching for my new favorite sausage in the Hill Country. Riley's won yesterday while passing thru Blanco looking for spots to fly fish for clear river guadalupe bass. This pork sausage was initially mild, cumulatively hot, and perfectly meatily fine grained and slightly dry . . . the way I particularly like it. Not greasy, and well spiced with garlic. Cutting into it didnt lead to 5 TBSP of oil pooling on the paper. I will drive the hour for that sausage!!! We tried no other meats.

Of course I asked for fatty brisket, and got three "grey" slices with no crust. Wasn't pleased. Flavor was just too bland, tender and moist allbeit. The ribs were over salted but decent . . . Rudy's has a similar flavor and are salt bombs too.

The blackberry cobbler with blue bell vanilla on top was the best we ever had.
