Summer deals in the PHX area?

tastyjon Jun 19, 2009 10:59 PM

Was wondering if you've noticed summer specials for the season?

- Wildfish: all night happy hour in the bar area. Discounts on drinks/apps
- IBID for Roaring Fork. Same ownership... can't recall if weekends count.
- Pearl Sushi (Old Town Scottsdale). Kind of a scene/be seen place, but they've got permanent happy hour for the time being, 7 days a week. They're also doing some add-on deals. We ate well, then they had us roll dice to take off another big percentage from the final bill.

Other places? Many of these deals don't seem to be listed on websites, etc. so I thought a running post might be useful.

Christo's is awesome but it is 3-6 mon-fri 1/2 of apps and $3 for some of the best chianti I have tasted (they way over pour too). If you like italian check it out.

    We had fried mozzarella $3
    Bread basket $1
    fried calamari-$3

Fenix which is 44th street and camelback in baskin robbins shopping center. $5 martinis all kinds stefan makes great drinks, and they just started doing $5 pannini's that come with a salad. I luv this place.

Royal Palms is doing happy hr 4-7 I believe. 1/2 off apps and specialty drinks havent gone yet.

Lots of Father's Day specials listed so you'll have to flip through a few pages, but there are quite a few here:

Stockyards has a $25 three course meal - it should be listed.

Not specific to summer but I like the happy hour deals at Autostrada. Mon - Sun 3 - 6pm, they have half off glasses of wine, $3 peronis and assorted appetizers. The cheese and meat plates were good and $10 each.

            A few more I've seen:

Sapporo has all-day Happy Hour prices for the month of June.

Asia de Cuba is offering coupons for 35% of the entire dinner bill throughout the month of June. Call Call 480-308-1131.

            J&G at the Phoenician has a new 5-7 pm $35 three-course prix-fixe
            http://thedish.freedomblogging.com/20...

Radio Milano has been having a "Second Birthday Celebration" with buy one entree, get the second for $2.

Canal has a Wednesday night three-course $25 prix fixe dinner menu, and the TV Dinner Specials ($19.95) on Tuesdays.

Heirloom, one of my favorites, is offering a $25 "Heirloom Reward" gift certificate through July.
            http://www.mculinary.com/Heirloom/hei...

In Sedona - there's a Restaurant Week-like promotion with “Dine In Sedona” through June 30. About 20 restaurants are offering three-course prix-fixe dinner menus, depending on the restaurant, at $19.95, $29.95; and $39.95.

Thanks for the heads up about J&G. I've stopped for a scotch a few times and the pork belly app, but have not been back for dinner. Need to get back soon.

Radio Milano is running its Neighborhood Night on Mondays and Tuesdays through the summer. For $20, you can order an entree and salad or entree and dessert. Get there before 7 p.m. to take advantage of the daily happy hour too (half-off cocktails and glasses of wine/beer) — and it's a smokin' deal. Also, get half-price bottles of wine at Bloom and The Green House on Tuesdays and Sundays, and at North on Mondays.

This was also noted in the Posh thread, but it's worth noting here, too: Posh has a 4-course prix-fixe for $35 between 5 and 6pm.

Kincaid's at the Collier Center in downtown Phoenix offers the entire appetizer menu at half price along with drink specials. Believe it is 4-6pm in the bar. Have been a couple of times and food quality is very good. Great place to go before a Diamondbacks game. Had a trio of Kobe Beef Meatloaf sliders for $4 that were spectacular. Particularly when compared to my $4 D-backs dog at the game.

Flemings has 7 for 7. Seven apps and seven drinks for $7 each. The apps are about half off but a couple amount ot an even deeper discount. High quality food and beverage in a very nice atmosphere.

Kona Grill has a 50% off app menu and drink specials. We had three apps and a couple of drinks for $20 and it was equivalent to a full dinner. Big portions.

My error. Flemings offers 5 choices of drinks, wine and appetizers for $6 each from 5-7pm night.ly. They have also included a good cheese burger with onion rings for $6.

Starting Monday through August 31, The Herb Box at DC Ranch is offering four different summer prix fixe menus for $25-30. The choices look great - will have to check it out.

I've been eyeing a couple hotel deals for my upcoming birthday (!)

Montelucia Hotel has a $125/night special, with a $50 credit that can be used at any of their restos.

Biltmore has $199/night special, with dinner for 2, lunch for 2, and continental breakfast included.

We booked that Montelucia special too. Didn't know about the Biltmore rate with meals - thanks!

Happy upcoming Birthday! BTW, CiaoGal mentioned that she recently had a fantastic birthday dinner at Prado at the Montelucia.

I didn't see the coupon anywhere. Could you please post a more specific link?

I have reservations at Digestif for the Yelp! Eats event, but am thinking that maybe we will just use this coupon to dine there this weekend instead. I am especially weary about the Yelp Eats event at Digestif, since they announced they are moving (into the Sea Saw space) right around the time of the event.

I like to support local restaurants (especially during the lean summer months), and when I can do it for less $$$ I like it even more.

The Golden Coupon was available on Local First AZ's website http://www.localfirstaz.com/independe... However, as sunshineinaz mentioned, Independents Week ran through Sunday, July 5th, so the coupon is no longer valid.
