Mondo Frites closed?

We always make a stop at Mondo Frites every trip to Montreal. I have just learned that they are closed? When did this happen -- and why?
I am sad. Those wonderful piles of frites with those wonderful dipping mayos.
And that awesome "metal" restroom, too!
What a crazy, eclectic place! I will miss it!

Anyone know if the owner(s) have plans to open something else one day ? This was by far the best poutine in Montreal...
