  1. You might want to be a little more specific....ie how much you are willing to spend, otherwise you will get the "Lai Wah Heen" recommendation if price is no object, or how set are you on location, otherwise you will get the "get out of downtown and go North where all the good Chinese restaurants are" recommendation.

if going north is where the food is then we'll rent a car. whrer do you recommend for peking duck. dim sum, and soup dumplings? guess downtown chinatown is just for show, like vancouver. thanks

Its best to do a search of the Toronto board under each of the 3 food categories and you will find many hits for your perusal. I don't have a personal preference recommendation place for either the duck or soup dumplings as I eat these too infrequently and I like a lot of different dim sum places. If price is not a factor, Lai Wah Heen is arguably the best in the Toronto area and is downtown and a place called Yang's in Richmond Hill has been getting "current flavor" treatment on this board. I find there are tons of other acceptable dim sum places and at more reasonable prices...one is a downtown hole in the wall called "Rol San" on Spadina near Dundas.
