I don't want to get into a discussion of the relative merits of Noah's bagels, but I got some bagels today from my local and found them spngier and more wonderbready than I remember. Has anyone else noticed a change recently? They seemed more like the grocery store bagged type than fresh baked.

I know there are better bagels in the world, they're just not in my neighborhood.

I'm glad you posted this so I didn't have to start a new thread and rant endlessly. Yes, their bagels have become very wonderbready. I had lox and cream cheese on a untoasted whole wheat bagel today and it even tasted under baked. They also screwed up my order twice, No more Noah's for me. I'm either going to make my own or switch to other breads to have lox and cream cheese with that are are better than their bready bagels. Like you there are no other bagel shops in my neighborhood.

Consider trying Thomas's bagels if your supermarket carries the "everything" version -- for a supermarket bagel, they have a nice "water" bagel chew. Pricey but nice when I find them on sale.
