Indian - Gerrard vs Brampton (or others)

As many know, Spadina Chinatown is not considered the best place to go for good Chinese food, the better places are all up North.

I live close to Gerrard so I head down there when I want Indian, but I always head up North for Chinese. I work in Brampton so I see tons of Indian restaurants around but haven't had the opportunity to visit them. Is Indian food considered the same with with Little India on Gerrard and the suburbs?

I usually bring visitors to Gerrard, sometimes to Lahore Tikka House, sometimes some other places, but I don't really find the food to be that good in any of those places. In particular I find Lahore Tikka House extremely overrated but people still like it because of its, IMO, faux authenticity. Are there some chow-worthy restaurants in the outlying areas that are worthy of a visit? I do not care about atmosphere as long as the food is good.

Thanks!

The Mount Everest in Pickering Village is a small family operated place with good authentic north India food. The owners, a very friendly and accommodating Sikh family, really want the customers to have a great meal, at reasonable cost.
