Best Brat's!!! (Milwaukee)

Visiting Milwaukee this week and looking for advice for great brat's in or around the area.

    1. I haven't lived in Milwaukee for 15 years, but the best brats were always the ones that I took with me to grill at County Stadium. Sorry - I'm of no help to you, although if you can cook your own, go buy some at Usinger's downtown.

        1. Look for a grocery or a bar or even a church (church festival season has started, so there shouldnt be too much trouble finding one) with a grill set up on the sidewalk or the parking lot. Bunzel's Meat Market at 80-something & Burleigh or Sendik's at 80-something & North do this most Saturdays. Brats are just not a big restaurant item here (although the bratwurst sliders on the bar menu at Saz's (50-something & State) are worth seeking out.

And yes, a stop at Usinger's to buy and take home to cook is essential.

            1. I agree on the best brats at Miller Park parking lot while tailgating. Brats are really something we make ourselves here rather than go out for them (except at festivals).

But if you must go out.. here's a JSOnline (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) Forum with a ton of posts on the matter: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/lifesty...
My favorite of the list is Old German Beer Hall downtown on Old World 3rd St.
If you're here for the weekend check out Polish Fest at the Summerfest grounds! I'm sure you'll find brats there and get to try a ton of other Polish/Wisconsin foods. Including Wisconsin Fried Cheese!
