Sorry - I meant good restaurants that are not well known in Tampa...

My favorite place in Tampa is El Puerta, it's an Argentinian place in Ybor City on 5th Ave. They have a great selection of steaks and seafood and is cheap! My fave meal is the Baby Churrasco, it's a Churrasco steak, rice and beans, plantains(their plantains are a bit mushy but still have a good taste), salad, and fries. Another good one is the fried tilapia covered in onions and pink sauce, and they have a great apetizer that is pork cubes w "creole"sauce, so delish. Their iced tea is great to. For some reason El Puerta doesn't get great reviews on this board but it is my all time fave Tampa restaurant!

Do you mean bars, or delis, or both? I mean, there are loads of small establishments in those areas, most of which aren't fancy--you have to be more specific.

Habana/ Havana Village on Dale Mabry- great Cubans, Custom Creations on Hillsborough- breakfast on Saturdays only- open till 2, not really a dive but worth checking. La Pequena Colombia on Armenia, Cabana del Tio in Clearwater.

I am confused. Is there anything else? Admittedly, some of them are not good but they are all dives. No?
