Personal NOLA challenge
After reviewing my ccard statement I realized that we eat at the same 5 or 6 places all the time. With so much out there to chose from I couldn't believe my statement looked like this:
Riomar
Riomar
Kyoto
Kim Son
Riomar
Little Tokyo
I admit to loving the bar at Riomar but enough already! I challenge us all to try one New Orleans restaurant that we haven't been to since the storm. My personal challenge is 5 new restos before labor day. I'll review every meal as I hope everyone else does...it's time to get some new chow on this board! Formal or casual, local or off the island, any ethnicity goes ~ just pick a place you've never been.
My first picks are Cote Sud and La Cote Brassierie...I'm feeling French this week!
Happy chowing!

Chef,
I too found myself in a dining rut - always returning to the same places because of (a) fear of the unknown, (b) laziness to pick a new place, or (c) the fact that "I know I what I like and I like what I know."
But ever since taking on what I have dubbed "The Challenge," I have expanded my culinary horizons immensely. http://blackenedout.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-year.html
OK, maybe not everyone is willing to eat at their favorite places only once per year. But I think that even an abbreviated challenge (such as yours) will help you appreciate both the culinary diversity of our city and the fact that your favorite places do such an excellent job.
Good luck.
