Abel's on the Lake
Has anyone tried Abel's on the Lake now in the old Lucy's Boatyard building ? Apparenty an offshoot of Cain and Abel's. Wondering if the food, basic as it may be, is worthy.
The food is definitely worthy. I went with a group of friends on Memorial Day weekend. I was not expecting much since I knew they were not "officially" open and were still working out the kinks. They more than made up for the fact that things weren't totally complete with attentive service, good drinks, and good food. My understanding was the menu was still not final but they had the standard bar food with a few interesting options. Everything that we tried was really good. I hate to use the word excellent in relation to bar food but it was better than 90% of the bar food I have had around town. The patio is great, not as crowded as Hula Hut. It should definitely be a destination, not just a second choice if Hula Hut is too crowded.
Umm, anyone else having flashbacks to Tuesday nights as an undergrad? I can't fathom eating food at this place, but perhaps I'm wrong.
