Lunch near American Girl - 5th Ave & W 49th St

Going to American Girl store on a weekday and the Cafe reviews are not too good so we are looking for a place nearby for lunch.

Casual for kids, reservations would be great. No chain restaurants. American food. Nothing too eclectic or ethnic.

I would pass on on cinema. In my opinion the food is awful.

You are better off going to Naples 45. Sit outside. a great spot to people watch. Pizza, pasta, fish, etc. Typical American Italian. In the metlife building which is connected toi grand central station.

You can also go to the Bryant Park Grill which is a nice area or Pershing Square

I'm not sure I'd describe Dock's as kid-friendly. Also, it's on the corner of 3rd & 40th, which is a fair distance from American Girl.

Virgil's BBQ, on 44th St., b/t 6th & 7th Avs. is very family-friendly.
