Does anyone know of a nice lunch spot relativly close to the Sam Adams Brewery in JP? Doesnt have to be anything fancy, but I'm really not familiar with the area.

I believe there was a recent thread about this, so I'd do a search if I were you, for a few more suggestions. The first (and one of the best, imo) that comes to mind is the Ula Cafe. A funky spot with great sandwiches, coffee, baked goods, etc.. Counter service with nice comfy seats and exposed brick walls. About a 3 minute walk (if that) from the Brewery.

Nice, thanks. A buddy of mine just saw me typing this and said I have to check out Doyle's.

Doyle's is fun, not great and not as close as Ula's but not too far. Bella Luna is right in that complex too. Many JP places if you're driving, read the recent thread.

Doyle's is a classic Boston institution. A cool bar with lots of history and a great place to grab a beer or two or maybe an appetizer. Food is just ok, but if you've never been there, it's a fun spot to check out.

This is my thought exactly. I don't have high expectations for the food, but with the weather being the way it is we figured we would play tourist for the day since we can't get to the beach.

The definitely hit Doyles if you've never been. Sit in either the first or second room. Or at the bar.

The food isn't horrible or anything. Just not that great.

Order a "JP Musty" beer. A relic concoction of old when Doyles was one of the first bars in the US to get freshly brewed Sam Adams beer.
