Need Late Night Help...

  • 6

I just booked a quick trip and don't have time to peruse the board. Most of my favorite places in NYC, such as Union Square Cafe, close too early. I need something open after 11. Ideally it would be a place relatively near one of these two areas, but we can cab:

Lincoln Center or Madison Square Garden

Thanks!

  1. easier if we know your preferences & price range, but...

    Lincoln Center close:

    Landmarc
    Peter's
    Cafe des Artistes
    Riposo 72
    Cafe Fiorello
    Barcibo Enoteca
    Stone Rose

    1. Good point, goodhealth, I was moving too fast. But we are also pretty wide open, we like a variety of foods. Favorite places for me in NYC are any of Danny Meyer's places, Lupa (LOVE Lupa), Ouest . I am all over dives as well. Price is not too important and I figure later on the Jean Georges are closed (had two amazing meals there).

What day of the week? You'll have better luck on a weekend night (Friday or Saturday).

      2. UWS (I would try go up to the 70s/80s for the most options)

        Open past 11 daily:
        Fatty Crab
        Landmarc
Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill (Columbus Circle)

        Friday and Saturday nights:
        'Cesca
        Kefi
        Telepan
        West Branch
        Eighty One
        Mermaid Inn
        Nice Matin
        Bar Bao

Madison Square Garden open late...you can go up to the Theatre District to Marseille which is open late past 11pm except for Mondays. But I think your search will bare more fruit if you go down towards the Meatpacking District and West Village (Agave, Cafe Cluny, dell'anima, Pastis, Blue Ribbon Bakery, Employees Only, Spotted Pig, etc.).

BTW, OpenTable is telling me that the last seating at Jean George is at exactly 11pm.

Thanks much everyone. It is a Thursday night, unfortunately. Seeing South Pacific, which is 3 hours long. So we would not get anywhere until 11:30 probably. I figured Meat Packing would be a good area, too. We were just trying to save time. (We are staying at a place a few blocks from MSGarden)
