Venice on Fathers Day

candee Jun 16, 2009 03:25 PM

We're taking that man o' mine and our eight yr. old son biking along the Santa Monica/Venice/Marina Del Rey path and wanted to stop at a nice eatery along the way. We're open to all good cuisines at any price points, but don't want to venture too far off the main biking/walk. Any good recs, please?

Thanks for the response, but we'd need something earlier........

      For lunch? With bikes?

Chaya Venice (Navy at Main) or 3 Square (Abbot Kinney).

Chaya's pretty brilliant. Do you know if there's a place there for our bikes?

i'd call them and ask if there is a place in their parking garage where you could safely lock up your bikes.
i agree, yogachik was brillliant with this rec.

also, i would advise resisting any urge you might have to order sushi at chaya venice on a sunday. stick to their other food.

There are many bike racks alongside the building, both on Navy and on Main (in front of the yoga studio).

James Beach is very convenient to the bike path and offers a nice variety.

Their having some sort of Father's Day special celebration with Zydeco music in the parking lot behind Uncle Darrow's at the corner of Washington and Lincoln. Sounds like fun and good Cajun food. It's in the early afternoon. Call them.

We enjoy Finn MacCool's on Main. They have a full bar and live Irish music on Sundays.
(Be sure to get the garlic fries!)

I also like Library Ale House but may be a busy day for them.

I would goto Joe's on Abbot Kinney for brunch, but I believe they stop seating at 2pm - not sure if they are extending hours due to it being Father's Day.
