Best Breakfast on 95/Conn.

We are heading up 95 to Cape Cod this Saturday and want to stop along the way for breakfast somewhere close to 95. Please suggest great breakfast locations along the way. We are leaving from Riverdale so we will want to stop for breakfast in CT. Westchester might be too early for breakfast.

All suggestions appreciated.

  1. Pat's Kountry Kitchen in Old Saybrook if you can hold out...get the clam hash!

Seconded! Get both the clam hash AND the red flannel hash. Soooo tasty....

    2. If Stamford's not too early, then head for City Limits Diner. It's a great breakfast spot and easy on/off 95.

      1. Post Road Diner in Norwalk is right off Exit 14. It's friggin' awesome.

I've been to City Limits while passing through CT but not Post Road Diner. What dishes would you call awesome? Good to know about for future trips on I-95.

We like to order off the breakfast specials menu...usually the "Very Fresh Omellette", the "PRD Sampler" (hope I'm not killing the names). They also make excellent pancakes and a really nice Banana-Cinnamon raisin French Toast. The place is in beautiful condition, lovingly-restored, with chrome & nostalgia up the ying-yang. Really has an authentic feel, devoid of any fabrication.

        2. The Shack great food and easy to get to off 95.
Take Exit 74 off I-95 (North or South). Take a left onto RT 161/Flanders Road. The Shack will be on the left before the Flanders Four Corners.

          1. great place in Branford, east of New Haven on the square. don't recall the name.
