Equus this Saturday--advice?

Hello, I am taking my hubby to Equus in Tarrytown this Saturday for a birthday dinner.
Any suggestions for food as well as cocktails?
We may not be able to pick from the whole menu because we are doing a 4-course prix fixe (we are also staying the night at Castle on the Hudson so it's part of the package).
FYI: if you go there is a dress code: "The Equus Restaurant requires gentlemen to wear jackets for dinner while casual attire for breakfast and lunch are appropriate (Please no Jeans or Sneakers)."

  1. Lots of folks here have chimed in previously about Equus. Most agree that it is way overpriced with underwhelming food. You might be wiser to rethink other options such as X20, Crabtree's, Stone Barns, or Bedford Post Farmhouse.

Thanks, I did do research here in advance and realize the stay at the castle will be more impressive than the food. I heard, though, that Crabtree's Kittle House is worse than Equus... though not as pricey.

Bedford Post has some wonderful accommodations, maybe 5 luxurious rooms, I've heard that they are a lovely experience...
