Breakfast close to RDU?

  • 9

I am meeting two friends for a leisurely breakfast close to RDU on a Monday morning. I am hoping someone can suggest a better place than Cracker Barrel.

Please, please, please, help.

Thanks in advance,

Alan

  1. Heron's at The Umstead Hotel is six minutes from RDU. The atmosphere is just lovely.

The menu was less expensive than I thought it would be:

But I was thinking more along the lines of a very laid back place. Has anyone eaten at Brig's?

Brigs is so-so. It won't be the worst breakfast you ever ate, but it won't be the best, either.

I'd recommend checking out La Farm Bakery in Cary, Morrisville Deli in Morrisville, or even Bruegger's Bagels in Brier Creek. IMHO, the Triangle area has a real lack of good breakfast options.

I'm an over easy kind of guy and Brig's does that better than anybody around here. They cook them in a two egg sized pan instead of on a flat top .We ate at the Morrisville Deli today and my wife's flat top cooked eggs were crispy around the edges. They do have omelets and other dishes. BTW. my pastrami ruben was great.

Thanks, btw is Morrisville Deli the new place on 55 in the shopping center with Smithville, Andy's, and a Dunkin Donuts?

No, it's on Davis at Morrisville-Carpenter. A word of warning, Morrisville Carpenter was blocked at 54 yesterday.

Oops, I meant Davis. Thanks. Yes, I know Morrisville Carpenter was blocked because I accidently came home that way yesterday. :-(

Brig's is good. Their specialties are skillets and omelets.
