Komi reservations

I called Komi today to try and see if they might have any "last-minute" availability (i.e. sometime in the next two weeks), but on their answering machine it says they take reservations "beginning one month in advance." Just wondering if it's worth pursuing further if I want to go before then (I might be moving). Has anyone gotten a reservation in less time than that?

Komi is ridiculously hard to get a reservation. I hate their process. If you want a Thurs/Fri/Sat you HAVE to call one month to the day at exactly noon or forget it. And even if you do that you might get shut out. I tried this for our anniversary and got voicemail, voicemail, voicemail, and person at 12:03pm... and they were booked! Top of waitlist but no cancellations.

It is worth trying last minute IMO because they do get cancellations but on weekends they will have a long waitlist. I have been able to drop in for dessert though with a few hours notice. If you don't mind spending $100 for dessert/cheese for 2.

I don't think they're booked every single day, especially with this economy. Even if they're booked, they probably have cancelations and you can probably get on a waiting list. So I think it's worth pursuing further. Also, they're closed on Sundays and Mondays.

There have to be cancellations. Even minibar has cancellations. I would pursue if you want to eat there, why not?
