looking for the best place for a motorcycle day-trip, with end goal being whole lobster, maybe some oysters and a couple of brews on a patio or deck with a nice view of the water. North or south shore are fine, extra points for locations that get us off the highway as soon as possible. thanks

The Lobster Pool, Rockport, MA or Chauncey Creek, Kittery Maine - for Chauncey, bring your own, they'll do the steamers, oysters, lobsters for you and I think they may have bber. Lobster Pool does it all including making great homemade blueberry pie. Lobster Pool is close to Halibut Point, a gorgeous spot for a stop.

I second the Lobster Pool . You won't find a better stop on a good day. Eat outside on picnic tables and the Atlantic is at your feet. BYO ( or at least was last season) and there is a liquor store about a half mile up the road in Lanesville. Don't have oysters if I recall but yes on the lobsters and great fried anything . And the inital ride is Rte 1N but once you are on 128 North it is 2 lane tree lined...have fun. 45 min from Boston .

the Bayside in Westport near Horseneck Beach has great water and bird reservation views. They have awesome lobster rolls and stuffed quahogs (I think they do whole lobsters as well), and they serve Buzzard's Bay brews on tap.

The Seaport Grille in Gloucester is on the water, has a deck, and lobster as well as beer. I had twin lobsters with a potato for $20 not too long ago there. Not fancy, but not a dive either.
