Miami Restaurant Recommendation
Restaurant Recommendation...
Hello everyone, I need a restaurant recommendation in Miami, I am going to stay at the hyatt regency Miami, I will have a car so I don´t mind to drive.
I need One fancy and several casual restaurants.
(I like the Italian restaurant, steak house, seafood, Chinese, Fast food like gyros, shawarma, etc. I am open to suggestions.)
Also cheap good food for the hurry days.
Please let me know your opinions.
I am going to be in Miami for 4 days.
Thanks :)

Thanks for mentioning Old Lisbon. I am fairly new to the area, moved down a year ago from NYC, and have passed the resto many times wondering if it is any good. I will definitely give it a try. Any one know of any good Jewish delis in South Florida? I am willing to drive to Fort Lauderdale if necessary. I have a hankering for a pastrami on rye. BTW, I can recommend a really great bakery in Fort Lauderdale on Las Olas. The bread is amazing and the pastries are really, really good. As good as any I've had in New Yawk. Gran Forno 1235 Las Olas. Very, very good.

Mo's Bagel, 2780 NE 187th St and Bagel Cove, 19003 Biscayne Blvd. are in Aventura and serve the familiar New York deli fare. Both have experienced wait staff that cater to their elderly clientele. You can get a pastrami on rye at either place. Very good baked goods at Mo's. Black and white cookies and chocolate bobka are my favorites.

Mo's is "Jewish" style but not jewish. There are no great jewish delis anymore.
Other deli's include various Roaster's and Toasters (NMB, MB, Dadeland), Bagel Bar East (N Miami/Keystone area), Deli Den (Ft Laud on Stirling). Haven't had the sandwiches at Deli Den yet but the others are passable.
Pomperdale's sounds familiar but I don't know why. I miss Corky's, Pumpernickels (i think lol), and the old Rascal House.
BEST DELI SANDWICH IN MIAMI?

re: sobeiam
Since you are willing to drive to FLL don't miss the best deli around. IMHO you can't beat Pomperdales for wonderful deli sandwiches and smoked fish. They have been around for a long time and their reputation is well deserved. See info below.

Chinese is not a strong point in Miami but King Palace at 330 NE 167th St. (just off I-95) is excellent. Hot pots are delicious, wonderful sea bass in yellow chives and shrimp with walnuts is one of the best shrimp dishes I have had. Extensive menu with BBQ meats, lots of soups including congees and noodle dishes. Friendly and quick service and very fair prices. About a 30 minute drive north of your hotel on I-95. Do not be put off by the neighborhood as the food is worth it.
Another rec is Old Lisbon at 1698 Coral Way in Coral Gables. 20 minutes from your hotel. Very welcoming, interesting Portuguese food. Do not miss the sausage and the sardines as apps. Very good seafood and reasonably prices Portuguese wines. European ambiance.
Try to avoid the tourist traps and enjoy!

I am looking for comments about this two restaurants:
Ceriones Italian Cafe.
Les Halles at coral gables... I know this in NYC is very good but I don´t know what to ???? in Miami.

Les Halles in the Gables is not my preference and I would recommend against it, based on past issues of hygiene. There is a great French restaurant nearby named Pascals which is a bit more upscale and would be a fairly decadent meal, even at lunch (short rib stuffed burger being a highlight). Le Provencal on Miracle Mile is another more casual French option.
For steakhouses, I recently enjoyed BLT on Ocean Drive, though I guess you have that in NYC as well.

Near the hotel find Stoupsy's for nice gyros.
IlGabbiano for fancy Italian.
Manny's Friday night for free oyster happy hour and then steaks.
Los Ranchos or Knife in Bayside for less expensive steaks (sunset special pricing or AYCE).
Tobacco Road Friday night for 96 cent drinks.
River Oyster Bar next to Tobacco Road for Seafood.
Scotty's Landing or Garcia's for casual seafood by the water.

re: advisor_Girl
About the Manny's happy hour oysters.... they're getting stingy! Friday before last, it took me over an hour to get a measly dozen oysters. They used to bring them out on a trolley, now they walk them out one plate at a time. Very disappointing!
If they don't want to give out the free oysters, they shouldn't advertise it!
