Jersey Boys - quick before show bite?

Any recommendations for something near the Centre for performing arts? (Any type of eats...we're easy to please!) We'll likely have less than an hour

  1. I went last week. You'll enjoy it, it's a great show!

Now on to the eats...not sure if you saw my posting I made last Wednesday, but I would highly discourage you from going to Baton Rouge. Please see my post for more detail. If you *do* absolutely have to eat there because it's so close to the theatre, don't order the prime rib. I saw more people enjoying burgers and ribs than anything else with a baked potato. I can't help you too much otherwise, other than there is a Keg a block away and I sure wish I had gone there instead...

    1. Rather than eat mediocre food near the Toronto Centre for the Arts here's what hubby & I did. Popped off the subway at Yonge & Eglinton, had a great dinner, popped back on the subway to the venue. Sure you have to dine fairly early, but anything's better than chain dining. If this interests you I'll toss out a few names as well.

Having researched it fairly thoroughly and being unable to find any consensus on any place near the theatre, this seemed the best answer to this quest.

Nice in theory, but sometimes you just don't have the time, as we didn't and rather than starve, we made the obviously bad choice.

      2. My wife and I have gotten into the habit of matching the food with the entertainment. For example, if we are going to see a Fellini retrospective, then spaghetti or scampi for dinner. Wagner's "Ring" requires German food, the music of Edith Piaf, French food, etc.

So, for "Jersey Boys" (great show!) obviously, what they probably ate, pizza, say, or hamburgers.

sounds good...but WHERE? I don't the area at all, and we're driving in, with less than an hour to spare, so subway hops are out of the question. Baton Rouge I don't care for at the best of times anyway, too pricey for what is on offer.

Surely there must be some sort of quick diner/noodle place/pizza joint in the neighbourhood....?

        2. My wife and I took the Mezza Notte recco in another Jersey Boys thread and enjoyed it immensely.
