Any thoughts about Sir John's or Lory's Lakeside in North Brunswick for a Saturday lunch with friends on the lake? Any other similar places in the area (extending through the Princeton area, where were starting from). Thanks!

    Sir Johns

Was here about two years ago. It was not the same Sir Johns I grew up with.
They do have seating outside for lunch everyday.
Had dinner here, not lunch, Food relatively expensive, and not memorable.
Keep in mind, back in the day the dinner choices were a lot more informal and good!
It has been awhile, things change.

    Lory's
    No Web Site
Remember this place when it was Whalebones and you could do canoe rental on Farrington Lake.

Lory's food is basic fare, burgers, salads, steaks, same menu for lunch and dinner.
They do not serve outside. You can take your food out to the deck and eat.
Being a local, not someplace I would think about more than just a place to relax, have a drink, maybe listen to a local band.

Views at both places are nice, right now cannot think of another place in the area that has that.

I like Lory's and go a few times a year, food is good but it's nothing special.

Its what you would expect from a place like that. I'd recommend it as it seems that's what you are looking for.
