Lunch near Houston and 6th (Ave Americas)

bpm123 Jun 12, 2009 07:26 AM

Hi all,

Is there *anything* near this area for a good lunch? Doesn't have to be fancy, but does have to be good! Any help is greatly appreciated... this is a total dead zone in my NYC knowledge.

You mean for a sit down lunch or take out? There are tons of good places within a short walk into Soho or the West Village...

    Calexico cart
Grandaisy (maybe, those sandwiches are kinda small)
    Banh Mi Saigon Bakery
    Once Upon a Tart
    Blue Ribbon Market
Despana (a bit further of a walk)
    Murray's Cheeses takeout section
    Amy's Bread
    Hampton Chutney
    Aroma (coffee shop)
    Lure Fishbar
    Hoomoos Asli

Also checkout the ladies who write lunchstudio.blogspot.com since they go out for lunch frequently and are always looking for places near their Soho studio.

I have not been recently because I am not in that area much lately, but I used to really enjoy Jane on Houston street. http://www.ctrnyc.com/JANE/index.html
