Two days of food.. Please make suggestions

So my husband, Japanese & born here in Hawaii, has never been to the east coast or even seen snow. This year we're going to see my family for Thanksgiving and on to New York for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show (corny I know but I love it and it's been forever since I've gone.. too long on this rock... I mean tropical paradisical isle..)

So really we're going to spend two days in the city and I'd love for you guys to make some suggestions of places we cannot miss. Oh, and please please please suggest a good French pastry shop.

I think you'll get better results posting on the Manhattan board (and asking specific questions/providing specific info, as above link!)

And if you're venturing beyond Manhattan, you could do the same on Outer Boroughs board...
