Fresh tortillas-Cary/Raleigh?

We are visiting family in Cary for a few days and would like to do a little graduation fiesta party for our niece. Anyone know where we might buy some fresh corn & flour tortillas? Seems like I've passed some Mexican grocery stores before, but am not sure if and where we'd find them. Thanks.

I saw 2 tortillaria's on E. Chatam St. when I was driving through last week . One is directly across the street from the Circus Burger. The other is in the U shaped strip mall next door.

You're looking for a tortilleria which means they make their own tortillas for sale to the public. Try to get them right when they come out of the tortilla machine.

LBD is pointing you to the culinary center of Cary. I could spend days there.

Thanks-originally, that's the place I was thinking of-the Mexican grocery on E. Chatham, from previous visits. Think it's near a Korean restaurant we've been to. If there wasn't an actual tortillaria around, that would be my next best default location; figure they'd be fresher there than going to a regular grocery store. When we arrived yesterday, there were two Mexican men working at my brother-in-law's house. We asked them, and they knew places, but they lived in Hillsborough, a little far to go. Thanks!

No Korean restaurant near the one Tom is referring to. It's next to an Indian sweet shop named Mithai.

Surprisingly, Google doesn't really turn up anything- the closest one I saw appears to be in Zebulon. Odd, because I know of tortillerias in Wilson, Greenville, and even Little Washington. It's really surprising to not find any listings for a much larger city like Raleigh/Cary.

For our Cinco de Mayo party, I drove to Durham and got tortillas (corn only - didn't find fresh flour tortillas) at Miss Tortillas: look here for comments

I live in Cary, so would love to know a place to try.

El Mandado on Capital Blvd. sells fresh house-made tortillas.

We found fresh corn tortillas (no flour) this morning (among many other excellent products) at Mi Tienda market on E. Chatham, right across from Circus Burger. As I thought, from previous trips here, it is right next door to Korean Garden restaurant, to which we've been numerous times. Nice little farmers market in the adjacent parking lot as well. Those places, and Trader Joe's and we are set for our fiesta. Thanks everyone.

Flour tortillas have a decent shelf life so you probably wont find fresh ones at a little tortillaria. Corn on the other hand is a whole other story. For years I thought I didn't like them until I had them within just an hour or so of being made.

My brother-in-law from Cary just said there may be more than one Mexican grocery on E. Chatham; maybe that's where the possible confusion arose regarding one of the place's proximity to the Korean restaurant. There were Indian, Japanese & other markets in this plaza.

If you are standing at the entrance of Circus looking across the street you will be looking directly at one of the tortillarias. The other is in the building that is perpindicular to Chatam and is just to the right of the first place.

            look at this article.
it refers to a mexican restaurant in your area that has house-made corn tortillas.
