The Sarria-Sant Gervasi neighborhood in Barcelona

We'll be doing a two-week house exchange in this area, on Calle Calvet. Obviously we'll be able to access the rest of the city easily and I'm compiling a list from other discussion threads. I wonder, however, whether there are any recommended neighborhood places and also what sorts of markets are nearby, since we'll be cooking many of our meals.

Thanks.

Upmarket neighbourhood, I've walked around it a couple of times and spotted some interesting looking food shops and eateries although never actually stopped to sample.

There is a Mercat de Sarria - http://www.mercatsbcn.com/mercats/ind... - which has been modernised, you'll be able to find everything you need there for home cooking purposes.

When I was living in Barcelona, the Boqueria was my local market so I did lots of food shopping there but I was always impressed by the various neighbourhood markets including Sarria.
