Lobster Tacos in or near San Diego!

Hi there! I'll be travelling w/ my family (3 kids under age of 5 included) to San Diego and would love to eat lobster tacos. Can you please recommend family friendly restaurants? Heard not so good things about Rockin' Baja Lobster so any other recs would be most appreciated.

Our family also loves all types of Asian and Latin foods so other recs for our family is appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

terrific. thx for the rec. What are your thoughts on Baja Lobster in Chula Vista? i went there a long while back and now not so sure if it's appropriate for the family. the food was amazing...

Mariscos Godoy in Chula Vista has Puerto Nuevo style lobster on the menu. You'll need to make the tacos/burritos yourself but that's half the fun. Bright, colorful, loud, frenetic energy well suited to family eating. And insanely delicious, well priced food. Very chowhound worthy.

Edited to add: El Zarape will work in a pinch (love their potatoe rolled tacos), but less a sit down place and more a taco stand with some (nice) seating.

2nd MG, was there again last night, lots of families enjoying the chow and very friendly staff.

    2. Probably the best resource for info about Asian food in the San Diego area is Kirk's blog:

The only down side is that there are probably well over a thousand different posts (not all about SD restaurants), so some searching is needed to find what you are looking for.

      1. Pacific Coast Grill in Solana Beach is known for their lobster tacos. I especially recommend their patio dining happy hour (between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.).

        1. Rockin' Baja Lobster is corporate chain junk. (Although, I have never been. But I am pretty sure I am right on target.)

          Go down to puerto nuevo.

Not saying anything about the quality of Rockin' Baja, but I don't think they are any more corporate chain than your average xxxBerto's.

          2. World Famous in PB has Lobster Taco night for Wednesday happy hour and they are cheap and good..casual oceanfront restaurant at the Surfer hotel..
Lobster Burrito at Don Bravo's in Bird Rock/La Jolla rocks!

Do NOT whatever you do go to Rockin' Baja Lobster..the place blows big time!
