Wegmans - Marco Polo Breads

Hello other Wegman's shoppers. Are there any others out there that find this bread to be as absolutely addictive as I do? I can buy a loaf and it does not last long at all on the shelf in my house. Good with just about anything: cream cheese, pasta sauce, cottage cheese, peanut butter, on and on...

Now Ive discovered the Marco Polo bagels, and while they really dont taste much like the bread loaf (bagels are much more flour-y) they are equally delicious.

Just wanted to share the love.
Almost as good as the little pretzel breads.

  1. IIRC they also make Marco Polo muffins.

If only there was a Wegmans a little closer to our house...

Oh, I second that. I love the Marco Polo bread and bagels. I'm also a fan of their cheese bread - totally different texture but yummy!

    2. Marco Polo bagels with PB are a total weakness! I also love using the Pretzel Breads as sandwiches. Although I am not crazy about their french/italian loafs, their specialty breads are great!

      1. Are Marco Polo breads sold with the wrapped shelved breads or from their in-house bread bakery?

Our Wegmans in Fredericksburg, VA opens up on Father's Day - yahoo!!!

At least in WNY they are in the bakery section. They will slice the loaves for you if you want. They should have a separate bagel section and also a separate section for rolls (again, both by the bakery).

        2. Its official, I can't lay off the stuff.

Part of me hopes they stop making it, that is the only way I will be able to stop. It is good with EVERYTHING.

Is this like Potato Bread or what? lol, I am curious ..I never sampled this bagel before. I mean it is some Soy/Rice thing?

          2. the pretzel rolls are GREAT. everything I like about soft pretzels, but better.

I tried a marco polo bagel and wasn't sold though...it was just like a regular bagel with some weird topping. not as flavorful as I had hoped

            1. For those of you who have never tried Wegman's Grandma Nonna's Ciabata Rolls, ask for them. They are the most incredible versatile roll I have ever eaten. If they don't make them at your store demand that they start.

              1. I just discovered the Marco Polo bagels, which have now ruined me for any other bagel out there. INSANE.
