Benson's Boxford, awesome native fruit flavored ice creams or frozen yogurt. Also, White's Farm in Ipswich after a feast at Clam Box.

My strong recommendation for an under-discussed ice cream gem is Hilliard's, which has ice cream at its Easton store, and very soon in Cobbs Corner in Canton (I went by last night, and it looks like they'll be open any day). They make their own, and use their own hot fudge. The chocolate chip is great, as is are the chocolate fudge brownie (made with home-made brownies) and my kids' favorite, swamp, which is vanilla ice cream with about 10 different candies in it.

Kimball's is my favorite county place; Toscanini's in the city. Grapenut at Kimball's; coffee with hot fudge at Tosci's.

Sullivan Farms in Tyngsborogh (Sully's, of course) makes their own, and its pretty good.

Truly Yogurt in Wellesley is amazing and white mountain creamery on comm avenue is also delicious. those are my two favorites and i am an ice cream fanatic - go out for ice cream every night!!

I haven't been to Kimball's in years but I still think of their PB chocolate chip often...yum!

Last summer we went to Bedford Farms a number of times and enjoyed it though nothing stands out in my mind at the moment. We'll definitely be going back there this summer.

We live right near the "Jordan's" outpost of Richardson's so maybe I'm spoiled, or becoming immune to its charms but lately it's not doing it for me. It may be that I'd be happier at the original location on 114.

I had an amazing cone at White Farms Ice Cream in Ipswich 2 weeks ago. The flavor was caramel cow and it was fantastic.

I know they sell Richardson's ice cream to various ice cream shacks around the state. I've never had any from the Jordan's location but the 114 one is still pretty great!

I'm partial to Richardson's Ice Cream in Middleton. Homemade ice cream and my favorite is the Moose Tracks!

Kimballs will ALWAYS be number one for me...though there is some debate that they use too much chocolate (ie chips in too many flavors) and some dont love the "purist" attitude that leads to white mint chocolate chip, and white pistachio.

Bedford farms is richardsons.
Im love kimballs but Ericksons has some very good flavors as well.
Rota Spring in Sterling is very good too. Not sure if they use their own ice cream or someone elses.

Is BF really Richardson's? That surprises me. The BF website doesn't make that clear either...

I think BF used to make their own, when they switched to Richardsons, they had Richardson's continute to use a couple of their own recipes specifically their vanilla and mocha chip (?). I know Richardson's supplies a lot of stands, but its pretty darn good ice cream.
