Will be in NYC for two weeks in August (from N.O.) and searching for the best ricotta cheesecake. Many thanks for your suggestions.

I've always loved Veniero's. In general I prefer the vibe of DeRobertis, but Veniero's cheescake was always fabulous--though it's been several years, still I doubt they've changed the recipe. It was sort of a ricotta meets egg custard flavor and consistency.

Thanks so much. Have you tried the one at Trattoria Trecolori? I just pulled up menu from nosochubby.

Bruno's and Rocco's in the Village are both pretty good.

If you are will go outside Manhattan you might post this on Outer Boroughs board as well.

I have had the ricotta cheeesecake at Murray's in the Village a couple of times and thought it was very good (over a year ago, however.)

Another vote for Veneiro's. Best I've had. They have excellent bow ties also.

yet another vote for Veneiro's ricotta pie. The best I've had in New York.

Pepolino in Tribeca has a delicious ricotta cheesecake. Not a bakery where you can buy the whole cake, but as a dessert, it's so good.

Do you really prefer this to the standard cream cheese cheesecake? I cannot get past the graininess.

Thank you . I went to Veniero's website and called and ordered the cheesecake for my daughter's 40th on July 4th.
