Garrett Hill Pizza--Overrated Cheesesteaks
I was in Rosemont last weekend and decided to take the advice of some Villanova grads, so I went to Garrett HIll Pizza with my teenaged son for a couple of cheesesteaks with onions, provologne, sweets and hots.
VERY DISSAPPOINTING. The roll was an Amoroso knockoff-- not bad, just not as tasty as the real deal. Size was fine, but the meat had no flavor-- . And-- when i asked for hot and sweet peppers, I did NOT expect them to fry them along with the steak and onions.
I should have known-- the got the "Best of Philly Mag suburban cheesesteak" award. Hey -- it didn't taste bad, it just was flat. I am going to be back in the neighborhood next Sat., where sh ould I go? Do I have to drive over to Chubby's or D'Allessandro's? Is Mama's worth the shot?
