Table 28 is now better known as 28 Water St, however, I fully agree with others who find their quality & service quite erratic - especially for the price. All it really has going for it is the outdoor seating. If Italian is of interest, Chianti's at 195 Old Forge Rd should be considered. It has an excellent ambiance and although not quite a 5 star type dining, we find they do provide very good service of very good quality with a wide selection balanced with reasonable pricing.

Agree that Siena is a higher quality restaurant, but very pricey & quite pretentious. If money is no object, it should be considered where we've found it to be more for expense account dining vs. the more laid-back , relatively casual experience at Chianti's which we find fills the gap between the best chains and pricey fine dining.

I and my family have tried Table28 a few times and will not go back. The service has been consistently horrible. Also, at lunch, we all ordered lobster salad platters one time last summer. There were only two other tables...after about 40 minutes, I asked if our lunch was coming soon and was told that the kitchen was backed up. Kon is always a good choice. The food is great, and, there are many choices.

re: Frank Terranova
I have not tried Cucina Mista yet, I know of it. We have been to Kon quite a few times. I went to Sienna once and I guess you are right, it is the best birthday choice. I have heard from friends who dine often in NY that a very good restaurant is opening in EG, the owners also have a great restaurant in NY. I drove by that restaurant called Tratorria D,Olivo, or something like that right on Main St. It seemed to be closed and there was construction going on there so maybe that is where it is going. I'll report back as soon as I get more info! Thanks for the tips!
