Counter Burger in Carlsbad

A counter burger is going in the spot of sushi on the rock in the forum. Has anyone been to a counter? How are they?

Went to the one in El Segundo and didn't particularly care for it. Beef didn't have much flavor, was somehow dry even though I ordered it medium-rare, and the execution of the toppings were boring and weak. Much better burger options around (Neighborhood, Alchemy, Farmhouse, Linkery)

Firefly in Encinitas does Burgers on Sundays, Just went this past Sunday had the cheese burger with goat cheese and fries plus a good glass of wine.

but will it last longer than the late ECR grill across the street? which was basically the same concept.

ECR was in the worst location possible. Not to mention the service was awful. I think the counter will do well in the forum.

The old sushi on the rock forum location - I hope they plan on selling about a 1000 burgers a day to pay for that rent!

Thats what I thought, I really thought a place with a more diverse menu, and with more expensive entrees would go in there. I was thinking it would have been a good location for a restaurant along the lines of LA's Daily Grill. I just dont see them selling that many burgers to pay for that rent.
