(SLC) Tipica - quick followup
I popped back in on Saturday evening as I knew the menu would be changing and there was at least 1 dish that I HAD to have before it went away: Carnaroli Risotto with Taleggio, Parsnips and Brussels Sprouts.
It certainly did not disappoint. The risotto was perfectly creamy and toothsome at the same time, the mild cheesy sauce added richness without getting in the way of the earthiness of the parsnips and sprouts.
I wanted to do one of the salads, but when I heard about the appy special I went with that instead: Mussels in a Tomato Garlic Broth with Pistachio Pesto. Another winner. Mussels were plump and perfect, the broth was truly lick-the-bowl-clean and the pistachio pesto was that flash of Kreisel genius. Perfect layering of flavors and textures. The boy can cook...
