Live Lobsters in Westchester

surman Jun 8, 2009 01:52 PM

I'm jealous of all the Long Island 'hounds bragging about their cheap lobster ponds! Has anyone found any place in Westchester that offers healthy seabugs at attractive prices?

This week, I've seen $7.99/lb., for all sizes, at both Stew Leonard's (1 Stew Leonard Drive, off I-87, Yonkers) and at DJ Fish (1575 Central Park Avenue at Tuckahoe Road, Yonkers).

That's not a terrible price, but any lobsterman or -woman on the water will tell you the market's been pretty depressed lately and there should be some better deals out there... Let's use this thread to keep each other informed.

Thank you.

IMaybe Ebb Tide in Port Chester? I haven't been lately but will try to stop by and check lobster prices next time I'm over there.

Really? Won't be buying them there then. My husband is actually on LI today near Plainview and I practically begged him to stop at the place the LI'ers mentioned but he may not have time.

This week, Stew Leonard's has chicken lobsters for $5.99/lb. and larger ones for the same $7.99/lb. as last week. The signs in the store claim both those prices are $3 off. Hmmm; interesting math.

Are you talking abut the place just about under the I-287 over pass?
They do sell wholesale and retail.

Back to $7.99/lb. at both Stew's and DeCicco's today. I hear they're about four bucks on Cape Cod.
