ISO Brew Your Own Beer Supplies...

redearth Jun 7, 2009 07:04 PM

I'm considering brewing a batch of hard cider for consumption during the summer swelter, and would like to know the best place to buy food-grade buckets with air-locks, a racking cane, siphoning hose, bottles, bottle caps, and bottler. I've done a few searches, but have found nothing to my liking... Any ideas?

They sell all of that save the bottles at Magnotta - at least at the Yonge & Finch location.

Cider takes a long time to ferment if you're doing it properly though. You generally drink it 6 months to a year after fermentation has begun.

Will you be pressing the apples yourself?

No, I do not intend to press the apples myself, and the recipe I'm following should yield some tasty cider within two months...

Thanks for the recommendation. Anybody else have any other suggestions, perhaps in the west end (Etobicoke south)?
