Granada- looking for great food good values
We are headed to Granada in July and are hoping to get some great local references for restaurants and tapas bars. Of course we are hoping to find some great values. And if you have favorite cafes or special dishes we will take those too.
Thank you!

Well, have no fear in Granada for value tapas bars. Granada is one of the last holdouts in Spain for having free tapas. We're not talking a dish of olives and some potato chips to accompany a round of drinks; we're talking full-out platters of treats! With each round, the tapa changes, with some places having a cycle of three or four plates of tapas to accompany your rounds of drinks that could be anything from a plate of rosquillos (round sandwiches usually stuffed with ham or solomillo) to a plate of well-seasoned braised pork or patatas bravas. Two places I really liked were La Bella y La Besta (there are two) and La Rivera. But honestly, you could go just about anywhere on Calle Elvira and experience much of the same thing. The teterias near Calle Elvira and the albaicin are fun, too, but skip the pastries (not worth the calories IMHO). I also liked going to the patatas asadas street vendors!
