Bye Bye to The Hudson in Hollywood

Too bad. It was a very nice place, with a killer hamburger and fries. And very friendly staff.

  1. That whole section of Hollywood is cursed. Hudson, Melograno and I'm pretty sure Bella is on its way out too.

    1. Is Hudson owned by the same guy who owns Tamarind Deli and another one or two restaurants on the same area?

No, the owners of hudson Inn are: KIMOON KIM and KATHERINE MATTHEWS.
Don't forget, this place used to be Memphis, which is yet another casualty in this immediate area. Many more will be hard-pressed to stay afloat this year - no one is doing very well in this economy in that area, which has toooo many seats to fill on any given night.

Memphis had probably the worse combo of food and service of any "fine dining" restaurants in Hollywood.

I think you're confusing Hudson Bistro which is on the corner of Hudson and Hollywood and connected to Hush Lounge (both out of business) to Hudson Inn which I guess is the new name of the old Memphis which is that stand-alone house in the back of the complex next to Hudson Bistro where La Cantina and Melograno are (or was in the case of Melograno). Geez, now I'm confused.

          1. re: ExtraCheesePlease

Nothing was said about Hudson Bistro, so, rightly or wrongly, I assumed the Inn to be the failure, due to its location, and everything else seemingly wrong with that complex and its tenant roster.
Maybe one of them should have been named Studebaker, and no one would be confused!!!

      2. George Abou-Daoud owns Mission, Delancey, Bowery and Tamarind. I don't think he has anything to do with the Hudson Bistro but I may be wrong.

No, George has absolutely nothing to do with Hundson Bistro.

I met him one day at the Deli, I liked him and he seamed sharp & smart. I am glad it is not one of his places. I was thinking of Bowery & Delancey, both had the NY theme, Hudson, NY. whatever.
