Art Gallery Cocktail Reception

My fiance and I are planning a cocktail style reception for late 2010, early 2011 and fell in love with the idea of a reception in an Art Gallery.

The AGO hasa reception venue but it isn't part of the gallery, and we kind of fel in love with the Thomas Landry Gallery but it isn't large enough. We've also looked at The Richmond but aren't over the moon about it.

It will be a cocktail style reception with abundant food stations and 100 guests. Any venue suggestions for Toronto would be much appreciated!

If you can still book it, the Gardner space is fantastic (I know JK is no longer there so am not sure how this works anymore). The Sutton Place Hotel has rooms on the upper floors which are stunning -- they look out over the Annex and U of T. Have been to many events there -- really lovely.

Wait, what? In that JK isn't actually in the kitchen there, or that it is no longer a JK establishment whatsoever?

JK Gardiner is closed.

I believe they are still going to have a JK 'outpost' @ the gardiner, just as a cafe? If I remember correctly from the article.

Here's the Toronto Life article -- it implies that the restaurant is closed for good, but that Jamie Kennedy will continue to cater events there.

If you can still do an event there I would definitely check it out as an option.

Agreed. It's a great space (especially if you end up getting married in the summer and can make use of the patio).

Have you looked into any of the galleries in the Distillery District?

I'm not sure of the capacity but they would provide a beautiful setting.
