Sunday night dinner in west Edmonto

Grandma D's, Mor Turkish, Singapore Baba, Mexico Lindo all closed forever or just today? What else is out there ideally ethnic or independant?

From what I have read here and elsewhere, I believe Grandma D's and I know MOR care are "gone". Not sure about Singapore Baba but Mexlico Lindo I think is still operating.

The West End is inundated with "chains" so ethnic and particularly independent can be problematic. There is the Asian Village in a small strip mall eastbound off 100 Ave, west of 178th Street and Darwaat [sp?] in the Mayfield Common.

There are a couple of Asian spots in and around the same area but we have not tried them.

I have to confess that living out on the western fringes we too have ended up more often than not at Cactus Club, Earl's, Joey's and the like or Sorrentino's or Piccolino's and the like.

Koutouki Ouzeria is "celebrating" its 5th anniversary with a dinner from noon on ...drop in when you like with various meats being cooked on a spit ... that we are going to.

    Good luck.

    1. Try Pico Linos on 142 st or Ichiban Sushi on 149 st.

Ban Thai on 100ave and 156st. is some of (if not the best) thai in Edmonton. It is notoriously slow though, don't go in a rush or starving.

No offense, cleopatra, but I completely disagree about Ban Thai - I had a mediocre meal at best, and have been to at least three different places that are far superior. Granted, I did only go the once before I gave up.
However, Cha for Tea in the West end has some very nice dim sum. I was there yesterday and the quality was quite good. i prefer it over Golden Rice Bowl.
