625593 Sat Jun 06 00:48:30 -0700 2009 8 2 Los Angeles Area 0 4747583 There was a fire at around 11:50pm tonight (Friday night) in the Taco Zone taco truck that parks outside of Von's in Echo Park. I don't think anyone was hurt. The women who had been working in the truck said that vandals had thrown gasoline onto it. The fire was first noticeable on the roof of the truck and then spread to the front. The Fire Department came within a few minutes and put out the fire. I hope they fix the truck soon, or that Taco Zone has other trucks, because it's a good taco truck that's there late -- I think until 2 or 3am. (Good carne asada and suadero, okay pollo, in both tacos and burritos; good condiments.) And I hope they catch the guys who set it on fire -- they could have killed someone. (I think the taco truck zoning issues were more in unincorporated areas of LA County. There were a lot of weird things going on in Echo Park last night.)
