Hip & fun restaurants in Fort Lauderdale?

I am celebrating a 36th birthday with some girlfriends. We are looking for a fun place for dinner in the Fort Lauderdale area. Any suggestions?

I second Steak 954. Good prices and amazing atmosphere. Fort Laud is in a lull because its Summer but you wouldn't know it if you were at the W. There are also a couple of very nice lounges that just opened up there as well.

I think part of it depends on how many and what night of the week. I have never been to China Grill during the week and it be more than 1/4 full, and that was during peak season.

I would strongly suggest either Yolo or Bova - virtually next to each other on Las Olas. Both have great food, and great bar scene, with Bova being a bit more upscale. You will have a blast at either.

The other place to consider is Steak 954 which just opened in the W Hotel on the beach - personally haven't been there.

Look into China Grill or Cafe Martorano. I had my 30th at Martorano's.
