What a treat! Terroni's last night

zengirl18 Jun 5, 2009 12:08 PM

It's interesting...I have never had pasta at Terroni's...only pizza and usually the Ricottara one because I love ricotta but last night I tasted their spaghetti limone...it was to die for! Does anyone else know of anywhere else that serves a similar dish?

Terroni's spaghetti al limone is my significant other's favourite dish.

I make a version of the recipe from Giada Di Laurentis that he says is better than Terroni (He might be just saying that though)

While love may be stronger than pasta, if it's your version he's eating night after night he's bound to be telling the truth.

My vote is for the Duck pasta! I always end up ordering pasta over pizza at Terroni's. Their fresh pasta is really that good.

Agree that their spaghetti limone is very good. For a similar dish, though MUCH richer, the lemon capellini at Trattoria Giancarlo is fantastic.

Do they add cream? I have seen recipes with cream added.

The Terroni version is olive oil, lemon juice and parmesan.

Hi pbp - it's been a couple of years since I've had it but I think they probably do use cream, or at least an intense amount of butter (as opposed to olive oil) - not as zesty/tangy as Terroni's for sure but a great lemon pasta dish in and of itself. Years ago, I remember eating a lemon capellini at Paese that was also fantastic - the flavour was closer to the one at Terroni's (sauce was a combination of broth and lemon juice) - served with a dollop of creamy chevre.

I was at Giancarlo last night and, remembering this thread, I ordered the limone pasta which was a tagliatelle. It was definitely one of the best pasta dishes I have had - they use cream so it is very very rich but the light lemon taste balances it out. I would absolutely order it again.

Hey Cat - thanks for the feedback and glad to hear you enjoyed it. It is VERY rich, I usually share that and a different dish with my husband. Hmm, I think I have a craving...

I love theirs as well...I have a hard time NOT ordering it every single time I go!
