Southern Creamy Pie?

Hope someone can help....I just returned from North Carolinia. I had a piece of "creamy" pie from a local farmers market that was too die for! It consisted of a basic crust with blueberries and a cream, (perhaps sour cream?), and a crumble topping. It was not sweet like a typical fruit pie. Any ideas or recipes?

  1. Found this in a Google search. Have not made it.

    Fresh Blueberry Cream Pie

(From The Pender Chronicle, Burgaw, NC 3/10/99)

    1 cup sour cream
    2 tbls. All-purpose flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1 egg, beaten

    2 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
    1 unbaked pie crust

    3 tbls. All-purpose flour
    3 tbls. Chopped pecan
    1 1/2 tbls. Butter

Combine the first six ingredients; beat until smooth. Fold in the blueberries. Pour filling into pie crust; bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. While pie is baking, combine remaining ingredients, stirring well; sprinkle over top of pie after 25 minutes. Bake 10 additional minutes. Chill before serving.

    1. You don't say whether the pie is baked with the filling or whether it is a blind baked crust that has the filling added after it is baked. By basic crust, do you mean a regular pie crust, or a crumb crust, as with graham crackers?
